Retention and deletion of call data
Different types of documentation can result from a conversation: a transcript, an AI summary, structured result fields and, where permitted, a recording. This data is not kept indefinitely and not without rules.
How long call data is retained and when it is deleted depends on the applicable retention rules and the configuration of your workspace. The article retention rules describes the data protection classification in detail.
What you should keep in mind
- Different types of documentation can be treated differently.
- Deleting a recording does not automatically mean deleting the transcript or results, and vice versa.
- For exporting data, the article data export is relevant.
Hinweis: Defining retention and deletion responsibly remains your responsibility as the workspace operator. Nexcal does not provide legal advice.
Planning retention
Decide early how long you need call data and when it should be deleted. Base this on your use case and the applicable legal requirements. Keep in mind that the transcript, summary, result fields and recording can be considered separately and are not necessarily deleted together. If you want to secure data before deletion, use the data export.
Deleting accounts and workspaces
Beyond individual conversations, entire accounts or workspaces can also be deleted. The associated processes are described in account deletion and workspace deletion. Before deleting, check whether you want to export relevant data first.
