What a transcript is

A transcript is the text representation of a conversation that took place. It records what was said during the call and makes a conversation readable without you having to listen to a recording. The transcript is one of several types of documentation and is clearly different from the summary and from a recording.

  • The transcript reproduces the course of the conversation word for word.
  • The AI summary condenses the conversation to the essential points.
  • The recording is the audio file of the conversation and is only available under certain conditions.

Availability of transcripts

A transcript is only created when a conversation actually took place. There is no transcript for unanswered calls, busy lines or technical errors. Very short conversations can also result in only a brief transcript or none that is usable.

Hinweis: A transcript is an automatically generated text version. It can contain recognition errors, for example with proper names, numbers or unclear pronunciation.

Transcript and data protection

How call data is processed and what role transcripts and summaries play is described in the article transcripts and summaries. Configuring your campaign responsibly remains your responsibility.

When a transcript is missing

If an expected transcript is missing, there can be several causes, such as a call that did not take place or processing that is still running. Possible reasons and steps are summarized in the article missing transcripts or results. If a transcript is permanently missing, no transcript available can help.
