Clarifying usage or limits

Call-usage notices and plan-limit messages concern two different areas. Your plan includes monthly connected minutes. For Starter, Pro and Power, further connected talk time is billed based on usage after those minutes are used; Enterprise is governed by the agreed contractual terms. Distinguish between used-up included minutes and an explicitly displayed restriction.

Call usage or plan limit?

  • Plan limit reached: A fixed capacity of your plan is exhausted, such as the number of active campaigns, users or caller IDs. Such limits depend on the plan.
  • Included minutes used: For Starter, Pro and Power, further connected talk time counts as additional call usage. For these plans, this is a billing transition, not automatically a block. For Enterprise, the contractual terms apply.
  • Call usage: It is measured from connected talk time and consists of the included minutes plus any additional usage during the billing period.

An overview of capacity limits is available in limit reached. Included minutes and call usage explains how included minutes relate to further usage.

How call usage is calculated

Usage is measured solely by connected talk time, to the second. The monthly included minutes are applied first. For Starter, Pro and Power, connected talk time beyond them is billed based on usage; for Enterprise, further billing follows the agreed contractual terms. Unanswered calls as well as preview and test calls are not billed. Details are explained in which calls are not billed?.

What you can do

  1. Use the message to clarify whether it concerns plan capacity or call usage.
  2. For a plan limit, check whether a different plan covers the capacity you need. See plans and feature scope.
  3. For a usage notice, review connected talk time in your usage history. For Enterprise, also compare the notice with your contractual terms.
  4. If an action is actually blocked, check the exact message for a capacity limit or an explicitly stated usage limit.

Hinweis: Plan limits and call usage are two separate layers. For Starter, Pro and Power, reaching the end of the monthly included minutes does not by itself mean that no further conversations are possible. For Enterprise, the agreed contractual terms apply.

If the message remains unclear

If it is not clear whether the message concerns capacity, billing for additional usage or an explicitly set usage limit, contact support. This applies in particular to questions about contractual Enterprise terms. Include the workspace, the affected action and the exact message.
