Which calls are not billed?

Not every dial attempt creates usage. This article explains which calls are explicitly not billable, since only connected talk time counts towards usage.

Unanswered calls

If a call is not answered, no connected talk time is created and therefore no usage. This includes, among others:

  • calls with no answer;
  • busy lines;
  • calls where no connection is established.

How Nexcal handles such results in the lead queue is described in no answer.

Preview calls and test calls

Calls explicitly classified as preview or test are not billable. They are used to check a campaign before the production start. Details are described in preview calls and test calls.

Why this separation matters

The separation ensures that only conversations that actually took place count towards your usage. You can test campaigns and start dial attempts without creating usage, as long as no conversation was connected.

  • Usage is created solely through connected talk time.
  • Unanswered calls create no usage.
  • Preview and test calls create no usage.

Hinweis: As soon as a production call is answered, connected talk time runs and counts towards usage.

Common questions

  • Does a busy line count? No. If no connection is established, no connected talk time is created and therefore no usage.
  • Can I test without creating usage? Yes. Preview and test calls are explicitly not billable. Details are described in preview calls and test calls.
  • What happens once a contact answers? From that point, connected talk time runs and counts towards usage to the second.
