Which calls are billed?

For call usage, only connected talk time counts. This article explains which calls are billable and how the duration is measured.

Connected time is billable

A call is taken into account once the contact has answered and a conversation is connected. From that point, connected talk time runs and is recorded to the second.

  • A production call that was answered is billable.
  • The connected duration is counted, not the dial attempt.
  • It is recorded to the second, shown as mm:ss or h:mm:ss.

An example

If a campaign calls a contact who answers and talks for three minutes, those three minutes count as connected talk time towards usage. If the contact hangs up after one minute, one minute is recorded. What matters is always the actual connected time.

What is explicitly not billed

Unanswered calls as well as calls explicitly classified as preview or test are not billable. For a full overview, see which calls are not billed?.

How usage can be traced

The individual connected conversations are listed with their duration in the usage history. This lets you trace which conversations counted towards your usage.

Hinweis: There is no flat billing per call. The basis is always connected talk time.

Common questions

  • Is a call billed that no one answers? No. Without a connection, no connected talk time is created and therefore no usage. For more, see which calls are not billed?.
  • Is counting from the dial or from the connection? Counting starts from the moment the contact has answered and the conversation is connected, to the second.
  • Do preview or test calls count? No. Calls explicitly classified as preview or test are not billable.
