No answer

The no answer status means a call was placed but the contact did not pick up. No conversation was established because nobody answered or the call went unanswered.

How no answer occurs

Nexcal dials the contact, waits the usual time for an answer and ends the attempt if no connection is established. Typical causes are:

  • The contact does not pick up.
  • The call is routed to a voicemail box.
  • The contact is temporarily unavailable.

No answer therefore differs from busy, where the line is occupied, and from a technical error, where the connection attempt itself fails.

Billing

An unanswered call produces no connected talk time. Because only connected talk time is billed, a no answer is not billed. For more, see which calls are not billed?.

What happens next

The lead receives the no answer result and stays documented in the campaign. Whether and when another attempt is made depends on the campaign and runtime rules. An automatic repeat is not provided for in every case.

Hinweis: No answer is an interim result of one attempt. It does not mean the contact is permanently unreachable.

No answer over time

A single no answer says little about the contact. Only across several campaigns and time windows can you judge whether a contact is hard to reach. If no-answer results occur frequently, check whether the calling window matches the times your target group is typically available and whether the stored phone numbers are correct and up to date.
