Busy

The busy status means the line that was called was occupied at the time of the attempt. Nexcal dialed the contact but could not establish a connection because the number was busy.

How busy occurs

A busy result occurs when the phone network returns a busy signal. Possible causes are:

  • The contact is already on a call.
  • The line is temporarily blocked.
  • There is a short-term overload in the network.

Busy differs from no answer, where the call is delivered but not picked up, and from a technical error, where the connection attempt fails in principle.

Billing

A busy result produces no connected talk time and is therefore not billed. Billing is based solely on connected talk time; the article understanding call usage explains the details.

What happens next

The lead receives the busy result and stays documented. Whether another attempt is made depends on the campaign and runtime rules and on the calling window. An automatic repeat is not provided for in every case.

Hinweis: A busy signal is a momentary state of the line and says nothing about the contact's general reachability.

Interpreting a busy result

A busy result always concerns only the individual attempt at a specific point in time. If busy results occur repeatedly for the same contacts, a different time window may help. Do not treat a busy result as a final outcome but as a snapshot of reachability. Further handling depends on the campaign and runtime rules of your campaign.
