Active call

The active call status means a conversation is currently running for a lead. Nexcal has dialed the contact, the connection was established, and the AI voice agent is conducting the conversation along the campaign goal and the configured script.

What happens during an active call

  • The agent opens the conversation and pursues the campaign goal.
  • It responds to questions and objections within the configured rules.
  • Relevant details are captured in the result fields.
  • If configured, an appointment can be offered or a callback noted.

For its duration, an active call occupies one slot of your available concurrency. Only when the conversation ends does the next waiting lead move up from the lead queue.

Transition to a result

Once the conversation has ended, the active call is completed and receives a result. Possible outcomes include a completed conversation, no answer, busy or a technical error. You then find the full documentation of a conversation in the call detail view.

Billing an active call

Only connected talk time is billed, counted to the second from the moment the connection is established. A connection attempt that fails without a conversation does not count as connected talk time.

Hinweis: Preview and test calls do not appear as production active calls and are not billed.

Active call at a glance

An active call is always tied to a specific lead and a specific campaign. While the conversation runs, the lead is not available for another simultaneous call of the same campaign. This ensures that a contact holds only one conversation at a time and that the results can be clearly assigned to a single attempt.
