Pause and resume

A running campaign can be paused and resumed later. While paused, Nexcal places no new calls for the campaign; conversations that are already running are not disconnected abruptly. On resume, the campaign continues working through the lead queue.

What happens when you pause

When a campaign is paused, the following happens:

  • Nexcal picks no further leads from the lead queue.
  • Conversations that are already connected finish in a controlled way.
  • The campaign settings stay unchanged.
  • The leads not yet called remain in the queue.

A pause is therefore an intermediate state, not the end of a campaign. For a definitive end, see campaign finished.

What happens when you resume

On resume, Nexcal continues working through the remaining leads, within the calling window and your available concurrency. No new start version is created; the campaign continues with the state saved at start. The exact steps in the application are described in pausing and resuming a campaign.

Billing during a pause

Because no new conversations take place during a pause, no additional connected talk time is created. Only the connected talk time of conversations that actually took place is billed.

Hinweis: A pause changes neither the lead list nor the results of conversations that already happened. It only interrupts the further selection of contacts.

When a pause makes sense

A pause is useful when you want to hold a campaign briefly, for example to free capacity for a more urgent campaign or to avoid placing calls outside a suitable time. Because the settings and the queue are retained, you can resume the campaign later without configuring it again.
