The REST API
The REST API provides structured, programmatic access to Nexcal data. It lets you connect Nexcal to your own applications and exchange data based on rules instead of transferring it manually. The API is intended for teams that want to embed Nexcal into their own system landscape.
Availability
The REST API is available as a standard feature from the Power plan and is included in Enterprise. It is not available in Starter and Pro. For an overview of features by plan, see plans and feature scope.
What the REST API is for
- Connecting your own applications to your workspace.
- Structured exchange of data between Nexcal and your systems.
- A basis for your own automation around leads and results.
To push out events in real time, webhooks are the right choice. The REST API and webhooks complement each other: the REST API is for targeted access, while webhooks actively report events to a target system.
Authentication and limits
Access to the REST API requires valid credentials that identify your workspace. How authentication works and what to keep in mind is described in integration authentication.
Hinweis: For Power, standardized payloads and defined limits apply. Enterprise customers can use individual APIs and different agreements. For more, see enterprise system connections.
Limits of the standard feature
The REST API of the Power plan follows standardized payloads and fixed limits. If these are not sufficient for your use case, individual APIs and different agreements are possible in the Enterprise plan. In that case, describe your needs to your Nexcal contact so the appropriate scope can be defined.
