What is saved at campaign start

At start, Nexcal creates a versioned campaign state, often called a snapshot. This start state records the campaign's condition at the moment of the start, so that execution stays traceable and is not distorted by later changes.

What the start state contains

The saved campaign state includes, among other things:

• the campaign base data;
• the conversation strategy with script and additional rules;
• the documentation settings;
• the booking settings;
• the runtime settings;
• the knowledge settings and the approved knowledge assets;
• the result fields;
• the contact and lead information at the moment of the start.

Why a snapshot is useful

The versioned state brings several benefits:

• Reproducibility: the campaign runs on a defined basis.
• Traceability: results can be attributed to the state under which they were produced.
• Protection against unintended changes: adjustments during runtime do not retroactively change the basis of ongoing conversations.
• Auditability: the start state remains as a historical reference point.

What the start state does not change

The start state is a snapshot of the configuration. It does not retroactively change your original contacts, lead lists or templates. If you edit a lead list or a template after the start, this does not affect the already started campaign, because it works on its own captured state. For changed content, set up a new campaign.

Relationship with locked settings

Hinweis: The start state is retained even if you later pause, finish or archive a campaign. This keeps the historical campaign state documented.
