Recordings in Nexcal
A recording is an audio file of a conversation. It is distinct from the transcript and the summary and is not active by default in Nexcal. Whether a recording is created depends on several settings and on admissibility in the individual case.
When a recording is created
A recording requires several layers to work together:
- the setting at the workspace level;
- the configuration in the specific campaign;
- the required consent or admissibility during the call.
If any of these conditions is not met, no recording is created. How consent is handled during the call is described in recording consent.
Distinction from other documentation
- Recording: audio of the conversation, only with active configuration and admissibility.
- Transcript: a text rendering, see transcripts and summaries.
- AI summary: a condensed view of the conversation.
These documentation types are independent of one another. A transcript can exist without an audio recording.
Wichtig: Only enable recordings when the legal requirements for the affected calls are met. You, as the workspace operator, are responsible for admissibility.
Responsibility when enabling recordings
Whether a recording is admissible depends on the individual case and the applicable requirements. Nexcal provides technical and organizational functions for controlled and privacy-oriented use. The customer remains responsible for configuring and running their campaigns lawfully.
- Check the legal requirements before activation.
- Inform the people you call about a recording as required.
- Treat an objection like an opt-out request.
Access and retention
Who may view recordings depends on the role in the workspace. How long they are stored is governed by the retention rules. Viewing individual recordings is described in recordings.
