Recording consent

What recording consent means, why consent can be required and how workspace and campaign settings interact with admissibility.

Recording consent refers to consent to the audio recording of a conversation. In Nexcal, a recording is not active by default. Only when recording is configured and consent or admissibility is present can a recording be created.

Whether and how consent is required depends on the individual case and the applicable requirements. Nexcal provides technical and organizational functions for controlled and privacy-oriented use. The customer remains responsible for configuring and running their campaigns lawfully.

How the settings work together

A recording requires several conditions:

  • recording is permitted at the workspace level;
  • the campaign is configured accordingly;
  • the required consent or admissibility is present.

Without the required approval, no recording may take place. For details on the recording itself, see recordings.

Hinweis: Treat objections to a recording like other opt-out requests. If a person objects to being recorded, no recording may take place.

Documentation during the call

How consent is captured during the conversation is described in recording consent. Handling stop requests is explained in opt-out and stop requests.

Retention and access

If a recording is created, its storage period follows the retention rules. Who may view it depends on the role in the workspace. Review regularly whether a recording is still needed for your purpose and remove data you no longer need.

The customer's responsibility

  • Check the legal requirements for the affected calls before activation.
  • Document how consent is obtained.
  • Act on an objection immediately.
