Why good knowledge content matters
Knowledge is the factual basis the voice agent draws on for questions. How reliably the agent answers depends directly on the quality of this content. Clearly structured, current and consistent knowledge produces uniform and accurate answers. Unclear or overloaded content, by contrast, makes it harder for the agent to select the right information.
Characteristics of good content
When creating content, follow a few proven principles:
- Clear and unambiguous: State facts briefly and with no room for interpretation.
- Current: Provide only information that is valid at the time of the campaign.
- Consistent: Make sure different entries do not contradict each other.
- Complete enough: Cover the questions that actually come up in the conversation.
- Verifiable: Include only details whose accuracy is confirmed.
Structure beats volume
More content does not automatically mean better conversations. What matters is that the agent finds the right information quickly. Separate company-wide details in the global company context from campaign-specific details in the campaign context. Common questions are best captured as FAQs.
What the agent should not infer
Knowledge provides facts but does not replace instructions. The agent should not derive offers or commitments from knowledge that are not stated there explicitly. If information is missing, the agent invents nothing and instead makes clear that the detail is not available. For more, see what the agent must not invent.
Hinweis: Review knowledge content regularly. Outdated or contradictory details lead to incorrect statements in the conversation. See avoiding outdated or conflicting content.
