Avoiding outdated or conflicting content

How to recognize and avoid outdated and conflicting knowledge content so the voice agent can answer unambiguously.

Why conflicting content is a problem

The voice agent bases its answers on the stored knowledge. If this knowledge contains outdated or contradictory details, the agent cannot give a clear answer. In the worst case, it states information that no longer applies. Consistent and current content is therefore a foundation for reliable conversations.

Common sources of conflict

Contradictions often arise unnoticed. Pay particular attention to these cases:

  • the same question is answered differently in FAQs and in a knowledge file;
  • the global company context and the campaign context state diverging details;
  • old promotions or terms are still stored although they no longer apply;
  • several files describe the same matter in different versions.

Keeping content consistent

A few habits help you avoid conflicts:

  1. Define a single source for each piece of information.
  2. Remove outdated passages as soon as something changes.
  3. Check new content against the existing details.
  4. Cleanly separate company-wide from campaign-specific content.

For how to prepare content well overall, see creating good knowledge content.

Changes and running campaigns

At campaign start, the knowledge state is captured as the campaign state. A correction therefore does not apply retroactively to campaigns that have already started. For what this means and how to proceed, see changing knowledge after campaign start.

Wichtig: Contradictory details lead to incorrect or uncertain statements in the conversation. Review your content for accuracy and clarity before every campaign start.
