Assigning leads to a campaign
For contacts to actually be called, a lead list must be assigned to a campaign. Only through this assignment do contacts become leads that are processed in the campaign.
Requirements
- a lead list that contains contacts;
- a campaign you want to assign the leads to;
- valid phone numbers in the contained contacts.
Assignment in the campaign context
The assignment happens in the campaign settings. There you connect the lead list you want with the campaign. The campaign then accesses the contained contacts and processes them as leads. How this step looks from the campaign's perspective is described in assigning leads to a campaign.
What happens at start
When a campaign starts, Nexcal creates a versioned campaign state. Among other things, it contains the contact and lead information assigned at that point in time. This keeps the run traceable and reproducible. How Nexcal then processes the leads is explained in how Nexcal processes leads.
Hinweis: Add or remove contacts from an already started campaign with care. The state saved at start remains as a historical reference point.
After the assignment
Once the campaign is running, the leads receive a processing status. It shows whether a lead was called and with what result. See lead status and processing result for details.
Common questions
Why is a lead not being called?
Common causes are an invalid phone number, a caller ID that has not been approved yet, or a paused campaign. Check the contact data and the campaign status first.
Can I assign several lead lists to a campaign?
The scope depends on the campaign settings. Make sure a contact does not end up more than once in the same campaign through several lists.
What happens to contacts added later?
The campaign state saved at start remains as a historical reference point. Therefore, make additions to a running campaign deliberately.
