What A/B tests are in Nexcal

An A/B test compares two variants of a campaign under controlled conditions. The calls are split across the variants in a planned way, so that both run under comparable circumstances. This allows a more reliable judgment of which variant performs better than a comparison made after the fact.

A/B tests are included on the Enterprise plan. They are not available on the Starter, Pro and Power plans; there, the after-the-fact variant comparison is available from the Power plan onwards.

How an A/B test is structured

An A/B test follows a clear flow:

  1. You define a hypothesis, for example that a different opening increases the appointment share.
  2. You set up two variants that differ only in this point.
  3. The calls are split across both variants.
  4. After enough calls, you compare the results.

The metrics are the same values used in the other analyses, such as the call outcomes and the booking rate.

What an A/B test requires

An A/B test is only worthwhile when enough calls are available. The smaller the expected difference, the more calls are needed to detect it reliably. Do not change the variants during a running test, otherwise the result can no longer be attributed clearly.

Hinweis: A/B tests are available on the Enterprise plan. A result only becomes reliable once both variants have held enough calls.
