Required and optional contact fields

A contact in Nexcal consists of several fields. Some are required for a contact to be callable at all, others are optional and provide additional context for the conversation and the analysis.

Required details

The central required detail is a valid phone number in international format. Without a callable number, a contact cannot be processed as a lead. Depending on how your workspace is configured, further fields may be defined as required, for example a name for a personal greeting.

Optional details

Optional fields extend the contact profile and can be useful in the conversation or the analysis, for example:

  • first and last name;
  • company or organization;
  • email address;
  • additional attributes or custom fields.

Which fields make sense depends on your campaign. A name helps with a personal greeting; an email address can be relevant for an appointment confirmation.

Hinweis: Only collect data that you have a basis to process. Nexcal does not make a legal assessment of your data.

Mapping fields during import

During the CSV import you map the columns of your file to the contact fields. Required fields must be mapped to a column, otherwise the affected rows are flagged. See column mapping during import for more.

Common questions

What are optional fields useful for in a conversation?

Optional fields provide additional context. A name allows a personal greeting, a company name can help with categorization. Which fields make sense depends on the goal of your campaign.

Can I use my own custom fields?

Additional attributes can be captured as custom fields and mapped during import. Only collect data that you have a basis to process.
